Angelo’s Napoletana Sauce
A truly traditional sauce using Italian tomatoes, slow cooked to produce a full flavoured sauce for pasta and more.
Not only is Angelo’s Napoletana the best go-to sauce for whipping up that quick pasta dish for your next family meal, you’ll be surprised how many other dishes this versatile sauce can be used in.
Here are some suggestions to get you thinking:
- Pizza – Use on Angelo’s pizza bases before putting toppings on.
- Soup – Add a couple of table spoons to minestrone or your favourite soups to enhance the flavour.
- Stews – Use as a base for a beef or chicken stew.
- With eggs – Simmer eggs in sauce until they set and serve with crusty sourdough for a hearty Sunday breakfast.
- Try a quick Chutney – Sauté onion, ginger and lemongrass, then add Angelo’s Napoletana sauce. Season with a squeeze of fresh lime and chopped parsley before serving. Use as a dipping sauce for seafood or as a salsa with chips and tortillas.
- With Fish – Fry off onion, add fresh Sword Fish (sear both sides) then add Angelo’s Napoletana and simmer until fish is cooked through.
- Risotto – Add a couple of tablespoons of Angelo’s Napoletana to your risotto for loads of extra flavour.
